VALDOSTA, Ga. - Tobias Rosendahl, a freshman from Haljarp, Sweden shot an even par 72 on Tuesday to finish the tournament at two over par 218, which was good enough for fifth best in the tournament. As a team, the Argos shot a collective 292, which was third best of any team during round three and kept the Argos in fourth place overall, just two strokes behind third place Valdosta State and only six strokes back of the winning team Florida Southern.
The top four teams, including UWF separated themselves from the rest of the field during the third round, as fifth place Nova Southeastern was 16 strokes behind the fourth place Argos. Meanwhile, Otto Bonning (Fr. / Skanor, Sweden) and Matthew Galloway (Sr. / Valrico, Fla.) joined Rosendahl in the top 10 individual players. No other school, including the winning Mocs of Florida Southern had three players in the top 10. Bonning tied for 7th best with a five over par 221, while Galloway tied for 10th with a six over par score of 222 for the three rounds.
Florida Southern's Judson Eustaquio defeated Valdosta State's Brent Witcher and Georgia College's Niclas Johansson in a two hole playoff for the individual title. All three players shot par on the first hole, while Witcher and Johansson birdied the second hole. Eustaquio eagled the second hole, his third eagle to go along with 17 pars on the day. Eustaquio turned in a four under par 68 on the final round to force the tie with Witcher and Johansson.
The Argos Kyle Scott (Fr. / Edenvale, South Africa) also turned in a fine performance, as he tied for 15th best with a total score of 224, after shooting a one over par 73 on the final round. Meanwhile, Senior Federico Damus (Posadas, Argentina) tied for 60th place with a total score of 236, after posting a two over par 74 during the final round.
Valdosta State was the top GSC school to finish, just two strokes ahead of West Florida. North Alabama was the next best Gulf South School to finish, with a 7th place finish; however, it was 23 strokes back of West Florida. Meanwhile, West Georgia finished 13th and Delta State finished 15th to round out the GSC schools performance. 17 teams and 90 schools participated on the 7,209 yard par 72 course at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
